The program of this concert-reading performed by the Spiritual Concert Choir, the pianist Marie-Josèphe Jude, and the sparkling resident of the Comédie-Française, Danièle Lebrun, is built by Hervé Niquet around the pictorial universe of Gustave Caillebotte (1848-1894). A musical rarity will be heard the Psalm 132 “Ecce quam bonum” by Martial Caillebotte, brother of the painter, composed for the inauguration of the organ of Notre-Dame de Lorette whose priest, and dedicatee of the work, is none other than Alfred, elder of the Caillebotte brothers. Gustave's taste for gardening or Gustave's passion for rowing told by Danièle Lebrun will give Dukas, Pierné and Dubois the opportunity to give us The Mermaids, pandora or Proserpine. And Messager and Lecocq will remind you that artistic Paris knew how to laugh and have fun with the melodies of The Temple Warbler And of Madame Angot's Daughter.

This program was composed as part of the exhibition “Gustave Caillebotte | Painting Men presented at the Orsay Museum from October 08, 2024 to January 19, 2025.
