Each season, student instrumentalists and singers take part in spiritual concert productions under professional conditions.

The “Spiritual Concert Nursery”

Committed to sharing his musicological discoveries, Hervé Niquet encouraged a dimension of transmission to the Spiritual Concert, which integrated it fully into his project. Welcoming students into productions offers them professional experience and prepares them for their future life as musicians.

Spiritual Concert Nursery

The “Spiritual Concert Nursery” is a partnership with the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional (CRR de Paris) and the Paris Boulogne-Billancourt Higher Center for Artistic Education (PSPBB). Since 2012, the partnership between Le Concert Spirituel, the CRR and the PSPBB has allowed around fifty students to benefit from this professional integration program and from our experience in the field.

The objectives and purposes of the partnership are to promote the training and professional integration of students by placing them, during their training, in conditions similar to those they will face after obtaining their diploma. This approach aims to give them a concrete experience of the realities of the profession and to familiarize them with learning and the requirements of the scene.

Students are selected through auditions, coordinated by Hervé Niquet. As far as possible, he personally takes part in these moments rich in exchanges and lessons for students.

Trainee musicians

Each year, trainee musicians join one or two Spiritual Concert productions. They participate in the rehearsals and concerts/performances of the ensemble.
Each student is accompanied and supported by a “tutor” chosen from the orchestra or choir.
These experiences proved to be very positive, both for the teaching team of the PSPBB and the CRR de Paris, and for the students or the Spiritual Concert team, with very good results observed by the orchestra's tutors:
• reactivity and adaptation to the interpretations requested by the chef,
• modulation work on style and sound,
• adaptability to logistical constraints linked to the various stages of production and empowerment,
• human contribution to teams.

Since 2023, Le Concert Spirituel has also welcomed students on internships to observe the administrative life of the ensemble.
Since cultural mediation is an integral part of the profession of musician today, involving students in the editing and production of a cultural action project allows them to better understand the issues at stake.
