As part of the production of Le Malade Imaginaire by Molière and Charpentier, Le Concert Spirituel, in partnership with the Opéra de Massy, and accompanied by Les Malins Plaisirs and the Éventail dance company, is developing an initial artistic creation programme bringing together three classes from the Blaise Pascal secondary school in Massy.
The aim of this course is to discover and experiment with the genre of the comedy-ballet specific to Molière through the creation of theatrical, danced and musical excerpts from one or two entertainments from Le Malade Imaginaire.
The creation will involve the three emblematic arts of the comedy-ballet: dance, theatre and music.
The multidisciplinary nature of the project allows the children to be anchored in an artistic practice (theatre, dance, music) while linking several subjects such as French, PE, SVT and plastic arts (sets and costumes). Each of the three classes involved in the project will work on a specific practice path.
The programme consists of :
- presentation of the comedy-ballet and introduction to Baroque music
- discovery of ancient instruments with musicians from the ensemble
- discovery and practice of baroque dance with a dancer from the company
- choral work with a singer from the ensemble
- discovery and practice of theatre, a meeting with the stage director and work with a comedian
- discovery and visit of the Opéra de Massy (backstage, rehearsals)
- invitation to the dress rehearsal
- restitution to the opera, within the school for families and classmates
- willingness to propose "flashmob" to some social structures in the Opéra district.
The project will start at the beginning of the school year 2021; a guidebook will soon be available online.
